Betty Lee Lancey

Betty was a woman of faith who loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was a dedicated member of O’Fallon Assembly of God Church, O’Fallon, IL where she served as a member of the prayer chain. She was a graduate of Belleville Area College with an Associate of Science degree in 1977 and BS degree in Business Administration and Accounting from McKendree College in Lebanon, IL in 1979.

Betty retired in 1996 from the civil service as a Contract Price/Cost Analyst for the Defense Contract Management Command and was previously employed as an Auditor with the Defense Contract Audit Agency. She enjoyed traveling, reading and making scrapbooks for her family.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, father Robert P. Barham, Sr, mother Virginia Barham (Wells) Schmulbach, step-father Russell J. Schmulbach, two brothers Robert P. Barham, Jr. and James E. Barham, step-brother Robert R. Schmulbach and grandson Evan Kluesner.

She is survived by her children Darryl E. (Lori) Kluesner, Laura (John) Stransky, six grandchildren, Jason (Jennifer) Wade, Heather (fiancé Thomas Watkins) Brown, Amanda (Anthony) Benjamin, Andrew Kelly, John (Andrea) Stransky, Jr. and Justin Stransky, and eight great-grandchildren Jeffrey, Peyton and Lucas Wade, Logan Brown, Liam Kluesner, Avery Bushnell, Wilson and Lilly Benjamin, sister-in-law Mary Lou Schmulbach, and great nieces and great nephews.

In Betty's remembrance, memorial contributions can be made to Phoenix Hospice.

A visitation will be held on Monday, March 10, 2025 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM with a service immediately following at 6:00 PM, at Lake View Funeral Home, 5000 N. Illinois Street, Fairview Heights, IL. Betty will be laid to rest at a private burial at Lake View Memorial Gardens.
