Byron possessed a more than outgoing personality. Family and friends often say that he was the life of the party wherever he went. He never met a stranger or encountered a person that absolutely did not adore him or become grateful to him for his impactful ways. He was entertaining, a true crowd pleaser in front of any audience, whether that was family, friends, or strangers. Surely he’s entertaining the angels now.
He married the love of his life, Stephanie Houston, on May 7, 1966. Together the two enjoyed almost 52 years of marriage. They raised their family, traveled the world and danced to the melodies of their own hearts. They truly were a match made in heaven.
Byron was also a man of faith, having been a member of the First United Presbyterian Church, in Belleville. He worked in Real Estate until his retirement, but held exciting positions throughout his life. Some of those being, a Boy Scout leader, an EMT and volunteer firefighter, a DJ, the MC of Millstadt’s annual Homecoming, and a radio show host, which happened to be on KRGVTV in Weslaco, Texas. Some of his most cherished moments were spent on the dance floor. He was an immaculate ball room dancer and often taught his family as well. Byron loved life and life loved him. He will truly and deeply be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Edward and Creola Mae (nee Cook) Nowak, and his sister, Dolores Lamprich.
Surviving to cherish so many memories are his loving and devoted wife; Stephanie (Houston) Nowak, his loving children; Kathleen (David) Sliment, Byron (Dee Dee) Nowak Jr., Christopher (Jackie) Nowak, Jerry Nowak, Doug Nowak, and Michelle Nowak-Reichert, 11 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, with 1 bundle of joy on the way, his twin brother, Bruce (Donna) Nowak, his mother-in-law, Carolyn Eilers, and a dear number of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
