Carol Jean Geschwend

Carol Jean Geschwend, 81, of Belleville, Illinois, passed away on Monday, February 17th, 2025, in Belleville, Illinois. She was born December 30th, 1943, in Belleville, Illinois to Leroy and Geneva Roth.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Leroy and Geneva Roth, her sister Sandra (Sandy) Pepper, and her husband, Roscoe (Bud) Leo Geschwend, whom she married on September 12th, 1964, in Belleville, Illinois.

Carol is survived by three children, Jodie L. (Jeff) Massey of Justin, TX, Teri K. (James) Monken of Swansea, IL, Richard E. (Keo) Geschwend of Belleville, IL; 12 grandchildren, Kylee (Brandon) Armstrong, Dran (Michelle) Crenshaw, Elanee Crenshaw, Cole (Kate) Massey, Kristin (Austin) Aune, Brian Massey, Taylor (Zach) Malach, James C. Monken, Sophia Monken, Rachel Monken, Veronica Geschwend, Grace Geschwend; 8 great grandchildren, Braidyn Armstrong, Lily Armstrong, Demi Crenshaw, Dallas Crenshaw, Molly Massey, William Massey, Palmer Aune, Parker Aune; siblings, JoAnn Mueller, Cheri (Ervin “Smitty”) Smith and Leslie Mason.

During her lifetime, Carol was a devoted homemaker and a co-owner of The Teacher’s Aid, a business she ran with her husband, Roscoe. Carol's greatest joy came from spending time with family, friends and her husband of 60 years, cherishing every moment they shared together.

Carol will be deeply missed by her family and friends, but they find comfort in their memories and the knowledge that she is now reunited with her beloved Roscoe in eternal peace.

Memorial Gathering will be from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm on Saturday, March 15th, 2025, at Lake View Funeral Home, Fairview Heights, Illinois.

Memorial Service will start at 12:00 pm on Saturday, March 15th, 2025, at Lake View Funeral Home, Fairview Heights, Illinois.

Interment will take place privately at a later date.

Memorials may be made in Carol’s memory to the American Lung Association.
