

She was born on April 13, 1943, in St. Louis, Missouri, to the late Henry W Banes and Mary F Wynne.
She lived a life centered around love, family, and service to others. Known for her cooking, shopping, and joy in hosting gatherings, she made every occasion special and filled with warmth. A devoted caregiver at heart, she took care of everyone around her — from her beloved family to the many animals she adored. She built a meaningful career as a registered nurse at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, retiring at the age of 65. Even in retirement, her giving spirit continued as she volunteered at Henry Raab Elementary as a librarian, at Toko Shop, and through the YMCA PSOP program. Caring and loving in all she did, she left an indelible mark on the lives of those fortunate enough to know her.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded by a son, Frank William Bunn; and a daughter, Tammy Denise Johnson
She is survived by her children: Angela “Angel” Renee McGhee, Jane Marie (Darrell) Plant, and Robert “Bob” William (Kelly) Bunn; 17 grandchildren: Julia (Sullivan Johnson) Bunn, Lisa (Tom) Trentler, Brian Johnson, Jessica Johnson, John Johnson, Lexis (Greg) Hoffmann, James Ponder II, Samantha (Matthew Shannon) Bunn, Jenna (Cody Wiegmann) Ponder, Brendan Bunn, Joshua (Emma) Bunn, William Bunn, Maddy McDade, Maura McDade, Darrell Plant III, and Dustin (Christina) Plant; 14 great-grandchildren: Jaxson Casey, Launa Johnson, Brian Johnson, Ivy Hoffman, Raelyn Wiegmann, Oaklynn Hoffmann, Kimber Wiegmann, Logan Trentler, Avery Trentler, Meadow Hoffmann, Levi Plant, Mae Plant, Grayson Plant, and Hayes Plant; brother, Michael (Debrah) Wallace; sister, Barbara (James) Fritz; number nieces and nephews; and many dear friends.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, October 29, 2025 from 9am to 12pm at Lake View Funeral Home in Fairview Heights, Illinois.
Funeral service will follow at 12pm with Father Bill McGhee celebrant.
Burial at Lake View Memorial Gardens in Fairview Heights, Illinois following services.
