On October 24, 2023, Gershaune eloped with the love of his life Kelsea Sparks. They wanted an intimate ceremony focused on their twelve plus years as a couple filled with love, laughter and making memories.
They celebrated their second wedding anniversary in October 2025 by sharing an intimate dinner and quiet time together. Gershaune passed away before he and Kelsea could take their dream honeymoon to a tropical beach to relax.
Gershaune was known best for his infectious smile and laughter. Once Gershaune’s giggles started, the tears would flow, and nothing could stop the laughter. You could not resist the joy radiating from Gershaune and join in his laugh fest! He brought happiness and excitement to every party he attended, as people naturally gravitated to his positivity and friendliness. No one left an event Gershaune attended without having a big grin and lots of fun!
Gershaune adored music. There were no genres he didn’t enjoy. He listened to rap, hip hop, gospel, pop, country and rock. He found joy in music of any kind.
Gershaune had a hunger for knowledge which resulted in earning his associate’s degree in Administration of Justice, his bachelor’s degree in Psychology, and current pursuit of his MBA. His ultimate goal was to seek his PhD and JD to help others navigate the criminal and civil justice systems. Gershaune questioned everything. He wanted to learn more about anything and everything. His natural curiosity led him to books and documentaries. He was determined to became a jack-of-all-trades. He had a love of reading, especially non-fiction works about history or engineering, just to mention a few.
When he wasn’t busy pursuing knowledge, Gershaune loved watching sports. Team and sport didn’t matter. You name it, Gershaune watched-soccer, baseball, hockey, football or basketball. He especially loved watching WNBA with Kelsea. They would watch the march madness games together and build their brackets as a couple. Gershaune was a huge Patriots fan and loved to cheer on his team-through good times and bad.
Gershaune’s favorite color was olive green as it reminded him of nature and brought him peace. He loved being outdoors-hiking, photographing scenery and wildlife, watching the leaves change and the changing of the cool air. He and Kelsea shared an immense love of autumn and could not wait for one their favorite holidays-Halloween to arrive each year. The couple loved to travel and had a bucket list of places they wanted to visit and experience together.
Gershaune and Kelsea would often watch cult documentaries together before bed. But Gershaune had to end the night with an episode of Bob’s Burgers to keep from being scared afterward.
Gershaune had a love of sweets, specifically Kelsea’s desserts. Each week Gershaune would spend hours on Pinterest trying to find the “sweet of the week” for Kelsea to make. His absolute favorite sweet was Kelsea’s banana pudding, always requesting she put an extra layer of cookie on the bottom.
Gershaune’s siblings were his world. He wanted them to be happy and loved and took pride in their successes. They were his motivation in life. Where to buy a house was focused on being close and accessible to his siblings. Gershaune wanted his precious siblings to always have a place to call home-a safe space filled with love. Gershaune was truly a selfless person who strived to be his best and most importantly help others to be their best. He would do anything to help others achieve their goals and dreams, especially those he loved.
Gershaune will be greatly missed by all that had the honor of knowing him, loving him, and sharing his laughter. Gershaune’s motto was “Say what you mean and mean what you say.” He was honest, kind, compassionate and a man of his word.
