Herve Gelin

Herve Gelin, 52, of Belleville, passed away Saturday, October 23, 2021 surrounded by his family. He was born on April 14, 1969 in Saint Louis du Sud, Haiti to Dieulifait and Reine (Henry) Gelin. Herve married Sherlyne Janvier September 10, 2004 in Miami, Florida. He loved his career as a civil engineer and spent 21 years working for IDOT. He was proud of where he came from in Haiti and had a passion for helping the community in Saint Louis du Sud. His family was most important to him. He enjoyed spending time with them watching their favorite T.V. shows every night. He also enjoyed going on many road trips to Florida to visit his family and other destinations across the country. Herve will be remember for his positive attitude and always being happy even during the difficult times. He will be missed by all.

Survivors include his wife, Sherlyne Gelin; sons, Matthew and Mark Gelin; mother, Reine Gelin; brother, Dieufaite Coulange and his wife, Gislaine. sister, Myrlande Morency and her husband, Fritz; brother, Jules Andre Gelin; nieces and nephews, Marc Eddy, Aurore, Olivier, Jonathan and Jayden. Predeceased by his father, Dieulifait Gelin.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 30, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in Lake View Funeral Home, 5000 N. Illinois St., Fairview Heights, IL 62208 with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Entombment held in Lake View Memorial Gardens.
