James "Jim" Edward Dowdy

James retired from General Motors after 30 years of service., and then enjoyed being retired for 30 years to love his hobbies, which included, shooting, hunting, fishing, traveling, camping and gardening.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Morgan Lee & Ollie Pauline, nee Bremmer, Dowdy; and a brother, M.L. Dowdy.

Surviving are his loving wife, Mary A., nee Nipper, Dowdy of Belleville, Ill., his daughter, Tee (Tom) Bayless of Elizabethtown, Ky., and two step-children, Rickey (Tina) Rainwater of Wagner, OK., and Anita Kresse of Pacific, Mo., 9 Grandchildren and 12 Great-Grandchildren, and a sister, Nadeen (LC) Gosa of Jackson, Mississippi., and a sister-in-law, Kay Dowdy of Memphis, TN., and nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4:00P.M. – 6:00 P.M. on Sunday, August 15, 2010 at Lake View Funeral Home, Fairview Heights, Ill.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, August 16, 2010 at Lake View Funeral Home with Pastor Michelle Parsons officiating. Interment will be held in Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Ill.
