James is preceded in death by his wife, Wanda L. Matney (nee Frisbee), his parents James E. and Hazel Elizabeth (nee Ervin) Matney, Sr., his daughter Margaret McManus (nee DuBouis) and his brother, William Woodside.
Jim truly enjoyed life. He lived life to the fullest and never missed a chance to have fun. He loved hosting family and friends and sitting back in his favorite chair under the tiki bar watching them enjoy the party. He was an avid supporter of live music and supported numerous local bands. If there was a good band playing, chances are he was there. Jim also loved sports, especially the St. Louis Cardinals and playing golf with his son and great friends. Everything about his life was, as he would say, EPIC! He will be sorely missed and remembered by many.
Surviving to cherish his memory are, his wife Robin M. Matney (nee Beamer); his children, James D. Matney, Sr. (Nicole), Don C. DuBois, Casey McManus, Cassandra Ellis (Tim) and Patrick McManus; his beloved grandchildren, James D. Matney, Jr., Elizabeth Scheibel, Quincy Jackson, Amerie Matney, Jacqueline Bruehl, Xavier Jackson, Lucas Rosen, Olivia Jackson, Tilayna Ellis, Alayna Ellis, Isabella Matney and Charlotte Ellis; his adorable great-grandson, Eli Castelli; his sister, Cheryl Asbridge (Dennis); his mother-in law, Carolyn Beamer; a sister-in-law, Lisa Jaskot; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
