

Jerrell was born August 28, 1950 in Dyersburg, TN to James Haliburton and Beadda (Stokley) Middlebrook.
He married Patricia “Pat” Stokley on March 9, 1984 in East St. Louis, IL; she survives and resides in Belleville, IL. Together, they shared nearly 40 years of marriage.
Also surviving are their children, Dr. Jerrell (Angela) Stokley Jr. of Dallas, TX, Maurice Beard of La Vergne, TN, Sean (Alicia) Beard of Nashville, TN, Mario Stokley of Belleville, IL, Damion (Tanyetta) Stokley of Shiloh, IL, Tameka (Marcus) Shepard of Dallas, TX and Jerrell (Brandy) Stokley of Belton, MO; 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; three sisters, Eileen Wynn of Dyersburg, TN, Senorma Walker of East St. Louis, IL and Amelia (Roderick) Woodard of Cahokia Heights, IL; and a host of nieces, nephews, and dear friends, including John (Pat) Everett, Martin Harris, Delmar Saffore, Leon Wilson, Percy Matkins, Little James Gibson, Eric Houston and many more!
Jerrell was preceded in death by his parents, James Haliburton and Beadda (Stokley) Middlebrook and his brother-in-law, Norman Walker.
Jerrell was a lifelong steel worker, devoted to his trade and took pride in his work. For nearly 10 years, he enjoyed his retirement to the fullest. He loved planting beautiful flowers, tending to his vegetable garden, cutting grass and maintaining he and Pat’s beautiful home. Jerrell always looked forward to their family being together, especially holidays where he could be outdoors to BBQ. He loved his family and the joy they brought to his life. He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.
A visitation for Jerrell will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2024 from 10:00 A.M.- 12:00 P.M. at Lake View Funeral Home, Fairview Heights, IL.
A funeral service will be held following the visitation, at 12:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Final interment will be at Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, IL.
