

John graduated from Assumption High School in 1959. Following graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy serving at White Sands, New Mexico as a Missile Technician. John was a member of the IBEW Local 309 for 57 years and then belonged to the Local 309 retirees club. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Parish in Marine.
John enjoyed fishing and in later years golfing. He loved sitting in the sunshine and working in his garden especially growing his tomatoes. John loved taking vacations to visit the wineries, talking about wines, and tasting wines.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Albert and Mildred (nee Breig) Lorentzen, Brother; Gary Lorentzen, Sister; Donna Miller and Brother-In-Law; Richard Miller.
John is survived by his Wife; Nancy (nee Stumpf) Lorentzen whom he married June 4, 1977, Daughters; Catherine Lorentzen of Oakland, CA., Elizabeth Lorentzen (Conor Robinson) of Denver, CO., and Son; Andrew (Kayla) Lorentzen of Marine, IL., 4 Grandchildren; Kent & Annalee Lorentzen, Emmett & Charlie Robinson of Denver, CO., Brother; David (Cindy) Lorentzen of Shrewsbury, MO., Sisters; Pat Odenthal of Houston, TX., Terry (John) McCoy of Houston, TX., Anita Lorentzen of Fairview Heights, IL., Jeanne Lorentzen of Marquette, MI., Rose Lorentzen of Fairview Heights, IL., and Karen Woolard of Ft. Myers, FL.
A Celebration of Life will be held from the Event Center of Lake View Funeral Home 11:00 am., March 8, 2022. Family will receive friends from 10:00 am until the hour of service.
