John D. McConnell

Mr. McConnell was the former owner of Expression Optical in East St. Louis, Illinois. John was a man of many interests including; playing guitar, pool, wood carving, fishing, hunting, and cars. He was a pet lover and was heavily involved in the Boy Scouts.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Mary, nee Gernigin , McConnell, and a sister, Susan Cauley.

Surviving are his wife, Fari McConnell, nee Ataiyan, his three children, John A. (Vanessa) McConnell of Fort Knox, Kentucky, Martin (Jennifer) McConnell of Opelousas, Louisiana, and Heather (Glenn Lauezzi) McConnell of Hazelwood, Missouri, two grandchildren, John Ruben McConnell and Amie Jaden McConnell, two sisters, Katie Bott of Alton, Illinois and Betty Chalamidas of Albuquerque, New Mexico, brother-in-law, Rupert Cauley, brother and sister-in-law, Fred and Luella Ataiyan, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Visitation: Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, March 18, 2011 at Lake View Funeral Home, Fairview Heights, Illinois.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, March 19, 2011 at Lake View Funeral Home, Fairview Heights, Illinois. Interment will be in Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Illinois.
