Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Reverend William (Myrtle) Underwood, Sr.; brothers, George (Judy) Underwood and Larry (Kathy) Underwood; and sisters-in-law, Nettie Underwood and Ruth Underwood.
Joyce graduated from Belleville Township West.
Joyce retired from the Memorial Convalescent Center as Supervisor of Housekeeping.
Joyce was a dedicated member of Christ the King Apostolic Church in O’Fallon, Illinois; the church that her grandfather, Reverend John Underwood, founded in the early 1920s.
Joyce enjoyed playing “Senior Bingo” with her cousins, Debra and Donna, along with Lillian and other friends.
Joyce is survived by her brothers, William Underwood and Paul Underwood; her nieces, Sharon Bachert, Karon Hippard, Victoria Xenias, Kristi Underwood, Patricia Yates, Jenny Underwood Fry, Julie Costa, and nephew, Michael Underwood, as well as many great nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, from 10:00am – 12:00pm at Lake View Funeral Home, 5000 N Illinois Street, Fairview Heights, Illinois 62208.
The funeral service will begin at noon on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at Lake View Funeral Home, 5000 N Illinois Street, Fairview Heights, Illinois 62208.
The committal will follow the funeral service at Lake View Memorial Gardens, 5000 N Illinois Street, Fairview Heights, Illinois 62208.
Reverend Andrew Romine will serve as the Officiant.
