June Colleen Ellis

June was a cook with Granite City, School District 9, for over 27 years. She loved to cook and bake, offering up the best cakes and desserts to her family and friends. She also enjoyed couponing and shopping. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother; who will truly be missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Gilbert R. Ellis, Jr.; a son, Gary Ellis; her parents, Harrison and Edison, nee Wallace, Melton, Sr.; a brother, Harrison Melton, Jr.; and two sisters, Nell Cochran and Katie Brown.

Surviving are her daughters, Linda (Bob Turner) Ellis, of Granite City, Illinois and Patricia (Randy Mitchell) Odom, of New Douglas, Illinois; her two sons, Gilbert D. Ellis and Randall W. Ellis, both of New Douglas, Illinois; nine grandchildren; and 20 great grandchildren.

Visitation: Friends may call from Noon to 2 p.m., Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at Lake View Funeral Home, Fairview Heights, Illinois.

Funeral: Services will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at the funeral home with Rev. Charles West officiating. Interment will follow in Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Illinois.
