

Lyle Aaron Grover, 86, of O’Fallon, Illinois, formerly Springfield, Illinois, born, August 26, 1930, in Auburn, Pennsylvania, passed away, Thursday, March 30, 2017 in Belleville, Illinois with his family by his side.
Lyle was a devoted husband and father and took much pride in his family and loved ones. He married the love of his life, Darlene Barrow, on June 5, 1954 and to this union brought three sons, Dan, Jon and David. He proudly served his country in the United States Army, working as a medic during the Korean War. Lyle worked as a trailer mechanic and professional painter at Aarow Trailer, in Springfield, Illinois, for over 35 years until his retirement. Lyle had a passion for music, playing instruments, gardening, taxidermy, wood working and spending time with his grandchildren. He possessed a vivid personality and a loving spirit that touched everyone he encountered. Most of all he was a man of values and faith and instilled those same values into his family. Lyle was a devoted member to his former church, First United Pentecostal Church in Springfield, Illinois, where he served as an usher and board member and his current church, Christ the King Apostolic in O’Fallon, Illinois. He was a loving son, husband, dad, grandpa, great grandpa, brother and friend. He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by both parents; David Daniel and Ada Mae (nee Long) Grover; his grandson, Chase Grover and his brother David Grover Jr.
Surviving to cherish memories are his loving wife of 62 years; Darlene Grover; his loving children; Lyle “Dan” Grover, Jonathan (Kay) Grover and David Grover; his grandchildren, Aaron Grover, Joshua Grover, Kristen Grover, Nathan Grover and Naomi Grover; his great grandchildren, Jolene, Landon and Grayson; his siblings, Mark (Letha) Grover, Paul (Gail) Grover, Cynthia (Allen) Diefenderfer, Betty (Bob) Metcalfe and Anna (Mario) Basile and a number of dear relatives and friends.

Visitation: Friends may call from 3 pm until 5 pm, Sunday, April 2, 2017 at Christ the King Apostolic Church located at 6920 Old Collinsville Rd, O'Fallon, IL 62269.
Funeral Service: Funeral Services will be held immediately following the visitation at 5 pm at Christ the King Apostolic Church. Pastor J. Andrew Romine, officiating services. Interment will be held privately in Lake View Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Fairview Heights, Illinois.
