

Mr. Hornbostel was retired from Local 520 International Union of Operating Engineers. He was an avid fisherman, NASCAR and stockcar racing fan. Paul also enjoyed working on lawn mowers.
He was preceded in death by his father, Albert Hornbostel; and a brother, Wills Ray Hornbostel.
Surviving are his wife and caregiver, whom he married on May 6, 1956, Lucille "Gail" Hornbostel, nee Stoekel; his mother, Virginia, nee Willis, Hornbostel; four children, Janet Taylor of Joliet, Ill., Thomas D. (Jane) Hornbostel of Fairview Heights, Ill., Judy (Dan) Peterson of Belleville, Ill., and Dennis Hornbostel of Caseyville, Ill.; six grandchildren, Paul J. Taylor, Michelle Martin, Jason (Ashley) Smith, Lena Peterson, Danielle Peterson, and Zachary Hornbostel; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a brother, George Hornbostel; and his nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, March 18, 2011, at Lake View Funeral Home, Fairview Heights, Ill., with the Rev. Jonathan Winterfeldt officiating. Interment will be at Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Ill.
