

Roger was an active member at Life Church Metro East in Swansea, Illinois for many years and participated in the men’s ministry. He was employed at the Belleville News Democrat as a printer for 43 years, and also owned Roger’s Lawn Mower Repair for a number of years. Roger will always be remembered by his infectious laugh, tap dancing skills, and deep love for his family, especially his devoted wife of 53 years.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Aurelia, nee Rosenberg, Schumacher; his sister, Shirley (Gene) Thompson; his parents-in-law, Claude (Ruth) Ledbetter; his two brothers-in-law, Robert (Emily) Ledbetter, and John Ledbetter; and his three sisters-in-law, Rosemary (Belmont) Valentine, Margie (Melvin) Schilling, and Donna Ledbetter.
Survived and missed by his wife, Darleen, nee Ledbetter, Schumacher; his three daughters, Claudia (Jack) Dungey, Monica (Larry) Martinez, and Eydie (Robert) Gass; his nine grandchildren, Matthew (Sarah), Jacob, Zachary, Quintin, Gabriela, Amanda, Courtney, Maxwell and John Earnhart; his two great-grandchildren, Skylar and Scarlett, his third great-grandbaby, whom will arrive in September; and his brother-in-law, Reynold (Marian) Ledbetter; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Roger's family would like to extend their appreciation to the nurses and staff of Memorial East Hospital and to their friends and visitors during this difficult time.
