Ruby E. Young

Ruby E. Young, nee Eggemeyer, 89, of Granite City, Illinois, born, August 7, 1926, in Walsh, Illinois, was called from this world, to her reward in Heaven, on Saturday, August 15, 2015, by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ; there she rest from her labor and sings the praises of God.

Mrs. Young was a member St. John Lutheran Church in Granite City, Illinois. She was also a life member of the VFW Axillary Post 3553. She enjoyed making homemade ice cream and crafting, especially, needlepoint and plastic canvas. She absolutely adored being a grandmother and loved to entertain the entire family during the holidays. She was a wonderfully loving woman, who will truly be missed by all who knew her. As we lay her body to rest; we do so with the sure and certain hope of the resurrection.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Freddie Young; her parents, Eddie and Minnie, nee Hapke, Eggemeyer; a granddaughter; five brothers; and three sisters.

Surviving are her daughter, Mary Ann Walker, of Granite City, Illinois; her son, Robert (Judy) Young, of Granite City, Illinois; her five grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; three step-great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m., Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at Lake View Funeral Home, Fairview Heights, Illinois.

Funeral: Services will be held at 6 p.m., Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at the funeral home. Interment will be held privately in Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Illinois.
