
Dr. Whittingham proudly served as a Captain in the United States Army during World War II and the Normandy Invasion, in which he was a Purple Heart recipient. After serving, he went on to become a chiropractor and served as President of the St. Clair County Chiropractic Association in 1969. He enjoyed fishing, baseball, and football, especially the Green Bay Packers. Dr. Whittingham found great pleasure in keeping his mind sharp by reading and learning. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Garth Lynden and Edna, nee Van Natta, Whittingham; his loving wife, Lily Elizabeth, nee Wyatt, Whittingham; one daughter, Sylvia Eichelberger; one son-in-law, Kenneth M. Stamper; one grandson, Kevin M. Stamper; and one sister, Gloria Dorst.
Surviving are his daughters, Angela Stamper and Linda Whittingham; one granddaughter, Cheryl Wilson; one great-grandson, Nicholas Macumber; and his extended family and close friends, Gloria Doyle, Cheryl Ann Pride, Eric Bloempker, and John and Caroline Latta.
