Shirley Somers

Shirley was a 1958 graduate of Belleville West High School. She worked at Dickerson Petroleum for over 33 years. She loved planting flowers in spring; both nurturing and brightening her days. She also, enjoyed going to state fairs, craft shows, dinner auctions. She was a loving mother, nana, and sister, who will truly be missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 39 years, Edward J. Somers; her parents, Joseph and Mary, nee Bosick, Land; and her beloved dog Molly.

Surviving to cherish her memory are her son, Billy J. (Angie Stillwell) Jones, of Belleville, Illinois; her daughter, Cindy (Joe) Mueth, of Smithton, Illinois; her grandchildren, Samantha Jones, Lauren Mueth, and Logan Mueth; a sister, Joyce Nelson; and her beloved dogs, Lucy, Ellie, Bella, Kristi, and Duchess; all of whom will wait patiently to meet again.

Visitation: Friends may call from 1 to 2 p.m., Sunday, February 26, 2017 at Lake View Funeral Home, Fairview Heights, Illinois.

Funeral: Services will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, February 26, 2017 at the funeral home with Rev. Charles West officiating. Interment will follow in Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Illinois.
