Wanda Louise Bishop McGrew

Mrs. McGrew trusted Jesus, her savior, in 1963 at Forest Acres Baptist Church. She was a member of Eastview Baptist Church in Belleville, Ill, for 38 years and was very active in her faith. She served as treasurer for the church, worked in the nursery, and opened her home to the youth ministry. She loved to crochet, knit, do word searches, and loved caring for toddlers and babies. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, sister, and friend, who will be missed by all who knew her.

Mrs. McGrew was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Inez, nee Steele, Bishop; a grandson, Jimmy D. McGrew, Jr.; a granddaughter Melissa Johnson; and a sister, Dorothy Davis.

Surviving are her loving husband of 63 years, Billy McGrew of Belleville, Ill.; her children, Jimmy D. (Lucy) McGrew, Sr. of O’Fallon, Missouri, Patricia (Douglas) Johnson, of Crowley, Texas, Lana (James) Lentz, of Waterloo, Ill., Pamela (Alan) Meinen, of Millstadt, Ill., Pastor Ron (Mary Jane) McGrew, of Belleville, Ill., and Michael (Barbara) McGrew, of Godfrey, Ill.; her grandchildren, Michelle, Tammy, Billy, Damian, Julian, Robin (Randy), Douglas (Cill), Denys (Mark), Melissa (Eric), Mark (Leah), Heather (Matt), Patricia (Scott), Brian (Tanya), and Thomas; her 28 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren; and her sisters, Majorie (Walter) Jones, of Edwardsville, Ill., Fern Fink, of St. Louis, Missouri, and June Jenkins, of Flat, Missouri.

Funeral: Services will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, September 22, 2011. Interment will be held in Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Ill.
