Eileen Kathryn Sweeney

Eileen Sweeney, 83, of Fairview Park, passed away peacefully on January 29, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born in Cleveland and was the cherished daughter of the late Joe and Kathryn (McEntee) Bender.

Eileen was the devoted wife of the late Mike Sweeney, her beloved husband and partner in life, who preceded her in death on January 7, 2021. Together they built a home filled with love, laughter, and lasting memories. She was a deeply loving mother to Coleen (Timothy) Dziak and a proud, devoted Granny to Noah and Eliese Dziak, who were the light of her life.

She was a dear sister to Rita Nussbaum, the late Mary Videc, and Joe (Dave) Bender, as well as a treasured aunt, loyal friend, and loving presence to many whose lives she touched.

A faithful member of St. Angela Merici Church, Eileen lived her life with warmth and generosity. She found joy in simple pleasures—casino trips with her family, playing bingo, and spending time at home. Her home was her pride, especially her pool, where she loved hosting gatherings, holiday celebrations, and welcoming family and friends with open arms. Eileen’s kindness, laughter, and loving spirit made everyone feel at home.

Above all else, Eileen was a devoted mother and Granny, whose love knew no limits. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by those who were blessed to know her.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Angela Merici Church, 20970 Lorain Road, Fairview Park, Ohio. Family and friends will be received at the church on Tuesday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of Mass. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Brook Park, Ohio.
