

John Mueller, age 84, beloved husband of 57 years of Johanna (nee Stiene) and loving father of Elisabeth Filippi (Robert), Barbara Hermann (Hanz), Theresa Gutwein (Bob); dear Opa of Erika Temple (Ryan), Maria Fabian (Robert), Nikolaus (Nicole) Filippi, Katie and John Hermann, Elisabeth and Becky Gutwein; and great grandfather of Sebastian, Alexander and Lydia Temple; Ava and Matthias Fabian; Monika, Anton and Juliana Filippi. John was uncle to the Szeltner family: Andy, Peter, John, Joe, George and Tom, and to 9 abroad; great uncle to many. He was predeceased by his parents Anton and Elisabeth Mueller, and by his sister and brother-in-law, Theresa and Peter Szeltner.
John was born in Hogyesz, Hungary and immigrated to Nuremberg, Germany after the war. On March 2, 1952 he arrived in the USA and settled in Cleveland. On June 30, 1956 he married Johanna and began a family. He was a stonemason by trade and founded Mueller’s Quality Construction in 1967, building many homes over the years throughout the Cleveland area. John was a 60-year member of Bricklayers & Allied Craftsmen local #5. He and his wife were parishioners at St. Richard Catholic Church in North Olmsted since 1974. For over 20 years he was an active member of the Deutscher Musik Verein, enjoying his time at the Westside Sachsenheim, and a lifetime member of the Donauschwaben German American Cultural Center where he enjoyed card playing, bowling, making sausage, and spending time with family and friends. John and his wife enjoyed talking with people and always had friends stopping by. He loved to cook and was an avid gardener and his rose garden brought him much pleasure throughout the years. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Catholic Relief Services.
