JOSEPH JAMES MARITA, age 89, passed away Monday, May 17, 2021. Beloved husband of Barbara (nee Fuchs); loving father of Tamara Jindra (Mark), Mary Beth Paponetti (Robert), Joseph (Kara), Kevin (Jackie), Brian (Mary), and Julie Hill (Brian); grandfather of Mark, Michael, Mallory, Max, Robert, Rachel, Matthew, Sara, Joseph, Samantha, Morgan, Jessica, Katherine, Madeline, Olivia, Bella, Elizabeth, Justin, and Sophia; great grandfather of Jack and Sam; brother of Agnes Anderson (Robert DEC), Floyd (Glenda), Martin and the late John (Mary DEC); loving uncle, brother-in law, and friend of many. Joe was raised on a farm in northern Wisconsin. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran, who served during the Korean War and loved his country. He was devoted to his wife, Barbara, for over 64 years. Joe was a 3rd Degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus and a long time member at St. Angela Merici Church where he was a counter, usher, Eucharistic minister, and over the years did many different projects. Joe was a carpenter; building for both his career and his pastime. As Pope Francis said of St. Joseph and reminded us of Joe.. he was "a carpenter who earned an honest living to provide for his family. St Joseph also teaches us the value, the dignity, and the joy of what it means to eat bread that is the fruit of one's own labour. He was a beloved father, a tender and loving father, an obedient father, and a father who was creatively courageous." In lieu of flowers, donations may be forwarded to the Knights of Columbus Council 4731, kofc4731.org.
