Alice Vincent

Alice J. (Pacheco) Vincent, age 86, of Quincy, formerly of Fall River, Somerset, Westport, and Punta Gorda, Florida died peacefully on July 31, 2012 in the LifeCare Center of West Bridgewater. She was the devoted wife of the late Dr. Gilbert Vincent, the love of her life, who passed away on December 21, 2011.

She will be sadly missed by her daughters, Jane Horowiec of Easton, MA and Andrea Ferreira of Boston, and her son Mark G. Vincent of Leesburg, VA. She survived by her brother, Peter Pacheco and his wife Joan, of Tiverton, RI, and six grandchildren: Jennifer and Michael Horowiec, Mark, Brian, Matthew, and Dawn Ferreira. Her extended family includes several nieces, nephews and cousins on both coasts of the US, along with many dear and close friends, all of whom loved her dearly. She was sister of the late Manuel Pacheco of California.

Born and raised in Fall River, daughter of the late Peter and Mary (Bento) Pacheco, she was a graduate of B.M.C. Durfee High School. She married Dr. Gilbert Vincent in 1953, also of Fall River, and lovingly raised their three children there. She eventually went to work for her husband’s thriving dental office as Office Manager. She maintained that position until 1987 until they retired and moved to Punta Gorda, where they lived for 23 years. In 2010 they returned to Massachusetts, residing in Quincy MA.

In addition to being a homemaker, she was a member of the Fall River Exchange Club and St. Anne’s Hospital Women’s Auxiliary. She enjoyed traveling, reading, shopping and spending time with her family. She and her husband had the opportunity to travel the world together and along the way developed many lasting friendships.

Her memorial service will be held Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at 11:30 a.m in the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME OF MEMORIAL TRIBUTE AT CHERRY PLACE, 178 Winter St. Fall River followed by entombment in Notre Dame Cemetery Mausoleum in Fall River.
