

Anna C. (Harrington) Harrington, age 90, formerly of Fall River, died Sunday, November 14, 2010 in Heatherwood Nursing and Rehabilitation in Newport. She was the wife of the late William E. Harrington.
Born in Fall River, a daughter of the late Daniel J. and Ellen T. (Leary) Harrington, she lived in Fall River for many years, moving to Long Boat Key, Florida for 23 years, returning to Tiverton in 2005.
A proud graduate of B.M.C. Durfee High School, class of 1937, she was an active member of the reunion committee. She also attended Allen Business School.
She worked for the Fall River School Department and was a Senior Clerk Stenographer for 38 years before retiring in 1982. She was a communicant of Holy Name Church where she was a member of the Women’s Guild. While living in Florida she was a communicant of St. Mary Star of the Sea Church and was a member of their Women’s Guild.
Mrs. Harrington was very proud of her Irish Heritage and had traveled to Ireland numerous times to visit her family homestead in County Cork and cousins.
She is survived by two daughters Mary Ellen Russo and her husband Richard of Plano, TX, and Anna H. Duffy of Middletown, RI, four grandchildren Liam P. Duffy of South Korea, Moira H. Duffy of New Haven, CT and Martha H. and Colleen H. Russo both of Plano, TX and one nephew Robert Henry of Roseland, NJ. She was sister of the late Mary H. Cappello and John A. Harrington.
Her Funeral will be held Friday, November 19, 2010 at 9:00AM from the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME OF MEMORIAL TRIBUTE at CHERRY PLACE, 178 Winter St., Fall River followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00AM in Holy Name Church, 709 Hanover St., Fall River. Visiting hours Thursday from 5:00 to 8:00PM. Contributions in her honor may be made to the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians (L.A.O.H), P.O. Box 573, Newport, RI 02840. Burial in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River.
