Born in Newport and raised in Tiverton, the son of the late Arthur and Matilda (Depointe) Gonsalves, he was a longtime resident of Fall River.
A graduate of Tiverton High School, Class of 1972 he worked for many years as a printer and as a cook for large functions and events. A man with many talents and hobbies, he enjoyed fishing, photography, working with his hands and collecting antiques and coins.
He is survived by one son, Anthony D. Gonsalves, Jr. and his wife Bich Vo of Braintree; one daughter, Heather E. Gonsalves of Longmont, CO; one brother, Paul Costa; one sister, Helene Costa; four grandchildren, Nicholas Gonsalves, Oliver Gonsalves, Maya Gonsalves and Bodhi DeRoo; and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Roger Costa.
A committal service will be held Friday, June 28, 2024 at 11:00 AM in the North Burial Ground Cremation Garden. Relatives and friends are invited.
