

August Petrucci, “Jim,” age 94, of Fall River, died Friday, August 15, 2014 in the Clifton Rehabilitative Nursing Center. He was the husband of Theresa (Petrillo) Petrucci to whom he had been married for 67 years.
Born in Compolito, Italy, a son of the late Guiseppe and Anna (DeMarco) Petrucci, he came to America in 1928. He was a United States Army Veteran of World War II, seeing service in Hawaii, Japan and the South Pacific Theatre of War.
Jim was employed as a truck driver for over thirty years for the former Sterling Beverage Company retiring in 1985, a member of Teamsters Local #51, a communicant of Holy Rosary Chapel, and a member of the Over the Hill Gang, and in 1938 was a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son: Joseph Petrucci of California, one grandson: Christopher Bigalke of Oregon and several nieces and nephews. He was brother of the late Pierina Petrillo and Celia Dagata.
His Funeral will be held on Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at 9:00AM from the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME OF MEMORIAL TRIBUTE at CHERRY PLACE, 178 Winter Street, Fall River, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00AM in Holy Rosary Chapel, 120 Beattie Street, Fall River. Burial in St. Patrick Cemetery, Fall River. Visiting hours Monday from 5:00 to 8:00PM.
