Beatrice M. (Grinnell) Stanton, age 86, of New Bedford, formerly of Fall River, passed away Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford. She was the wife of the late John J. Stanton Jr.
Born in Fall River, the daughter of the late Raymond A. and Isabella (Walton) Grinnell Sr., she lived most of her life in Fall River before moving to New Bedford several years ago. Mrs. Stanton was employed as a Machine Operator for the former Darwood Manufacturing for 36 years before retiring in 1986.
She is survived by her two daughters Brenda Himes of Fall River and Lorraine Sousa of Bristol, RI; a sister Marjorie Mulcahy of Fall River, five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and several great great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Raymond A. Grinnell Jr.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 8, 2011 at 10am in the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME OF MEMORIAL TRIBUTE AT CHERRY PLACE 178 Winter St., Fall River. Visiting hours Friday from 4-7pm.
