Debra L. (Souza) Pelland, age 67, of Westport, died Saturday, December 16, 2023 at her residence after a long illness. She was the wife of Brian K. Pelland to whom she has been married for the past 47 years.
Born in Fall River, a daughter of Dolores (Sylvia) Souza of Fall River and the late Gilbert Souza, she had been a longtime resident of Westport.
A graduate of Westport High School, she attended Bristol Community College and worked as a store manager in the retail industry for many years. She was a member of the Massachusetts National Guard and enjoyed crafting.
In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by one son, Jarred B. Pelland of Westport; one granddaughter, Kylee J. Armour; one grandson, Noah J. Pelland; twin sister, Donna Souza of New Bedford; two brothers, Michael Souza of FL, Gilbert Souza, Jr. and his wife Michelle of Westport and several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Jessica L. Pelland.
Contributions in her honor may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105. Private arrangements are in the care of the Waring-Sullivan Home at Cherry Place, Fall River.
