
Born in Fall River, a daughter of the late James S. Wamboldt and Jeanne B. Farrington, she was a lifelong area resident. She was a graduate of Durfee High School, class of 1934, and was employed as a crossing guard for the City of Fall River, and a stitcher in various mills, retiring in 1965. Most notably she was one of the first uniformed crossing guards in Fall River, a founding member of the Republican Women’s Club and was affiliated with the former St. John’s Church, Fall River as a vestry member, Sunday school teacher and on the Altar Guild.
She is survived by two daughters, Jeanne B. Hill of Tiverton and Bette-Jane Wood of Westport; two sons, Thomas E. Hill and his wife Donna of Portsmouth and David P. Hill and his wife Marilyn of Tiverton; a daughter in-law, Susanne Hill of Fall River; a brother, John T. Farrington and his wife Alice of N. Easton; Twelve grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late George A. Hill, Jr. and sister of the late George and Charles Farrington and Gladys McFarlin.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 6, 2017 from 4:00PM to 8:00PM in the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME at CHERRY PLACE, 178 Winter Street, Fall River. Burial private.
