Elaine P. Aguiar, age 69 of Fall River, passed away Thursday, December 10, 2015 at her residence. She was born in Fall River, the daughter of the late Antone and Cecelia (Pontes) Aguiar, and was a lifelong resident of the city.
A graduate of BMC Durfee High School, she received a Bachelor of Science degree from Southeastern Massachusetts Technological Institute. Elaine was employed as a Microbiologist at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital, North Providence for 47 years. She was a member of CK Beach Club in Westport, loved animals and enjoyed gardening and cooking. Elaine was also a Eucharistic Minister at the Sacred Heart and Holy Rosary Parishes.
Elaine is survived by her longtime friend of 40 years Claudette Desaulniers and Leda Francoeur, whom she considered her second mother and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Kenneth Aguiar.
Her memorial mass will be held on Saturday, December 19, 2015 at 10:00AM in Holy Rosary Chapel, 120 Beattie Street, Fall River. Contributions in her honor may be made to the Sacred Heart Soup Kitchen at St. Bernadette’s Parish, 529 Eastern Avenue, Fall River, MA 02723 or Forever Paws, 300 Lynwood Street, Fall River, MA 02721. Arrangements are under the care of Waring-Sullivan Home of Memorial Tribute at Cherry Place. Burial Private.
