Eunice M. (Martin) McDonald, age 92, passed away peacefully Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at the Kimwell Nursing Home. She was the wife of the late Fall River Fire Chief Francis J. “Mac” McDonald to whom she was married for 34 years before his passing in 1983.
A graduate of Union Hospital Nursing School she worked as a Registered Nurse at the former Union and Truesdale Hospitals now Charlton Memorial Hospital for 40 years before retiring in 1984. She was assigned the Emergency Services Manager at Charlton when they first opened. She was an active volunteer for the Red Cross for over twenty years.
She is survived by one daughter, Martie F. McDonald of Fall River and several nieces and nephews including Daniel P. McDonald and his wife Diane of Somerset and their children Cristin, Sean, Melissa and McKayla
Her Funeral will be held on Monday, October 3, 2016 at 10:30AM in the Waring-Sullivan Home of Memorial Tribute at Cherry Place, 178 Winter St., Fall River. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours prior to her service from 9:30 to 10:30AM. Contributions in her honor may be made to the Swansea Animal Shelter, 68 Stevens Rd, Swansea, MA 02777. Burial in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River.
