

Everett C. Lewis Jr. affectionately known as “Poppa Lewis” age 68 of Fall River died Tues. Sept. 20, 2005 at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital in Providence. He was the beloved husband of Carol A. (Hindle) Lewis.
Born in Fall River son of the late Everett C. Lewis Sr. and the late Marie (Fitzler) Lewis he was a lifelong resident of Fall River and a graduate of Diman High School. He was a veteran of the Air Force serving in Oslo Norway.
Everett was the owner and operator of the former ECL Diner and Catering located on Second St. in Fall River for many years. He was a communicant and Eucharistic minister at Sacred Heart Church. He worked at the Bristol County Sheriff’s Dept. from Jan. 13, 1991-Dec. 21, 2002 as the Steward.
Mr. Lewis was an active Third Degree Honorary Member of Fr. Joseph Boehr Council 4753 Knights of Columbus in Tiverton, RI, where he currently served as Senior Trustee. Everett also served as a Grand Knight from 2003-2004 and was named to the Circle of Honor by the State deputy of Rhode Island and her served as the council’s Financial Secretary for many years. Last December, Everett had his 35th anniversary as a member of the Knights.
He was appointed District Deputy for the Jurisdiction of Rhode Island, District Six by the State Deputy in 2004-2005 and was currently serving as a member of the Recruitment and Retention Committee. An active member of the Fourth Degree since 1977 he served as Faithful Navigator and currently, serving as Trustee and the Color Corps Commander for Fr. Joseph B. Donahue Assembly 1816, Tiverton. He also served as a Faithful Navigator for the General Rosecrans Assembly 1058.
Mr. Lewis was an Eagle Scout and active member of the Colonial Navy of MA. Everett worked most recently as a Funeral assistant at Waring-Sullivan Homes of Memorial Tribute.
Everyone who met Everett, could not help but love Everett. He was such a pleasant and jolly person to be around. If someone was having a bad day, he could turn it around, no problem with his jokes.

My birthday wish for you my wonderful husband is that you are resting in peace knowing how much I love you. Your laughter still lingers in my mind. You enjoyed life to the fullest and I had the honor of sharing in your love and life. I cherish every day we had together. Happy Birthday and Happy Easter to a special man. Remember that someday we will dance together again in heaven. And I remember our joke.....ditto!!!
