Florence G. Galland

Born in Fall River the daughter of the late Joseph P. and Rosa (Guay) Guimond, she has been a Tiverton resident for 68 years. Along with her husband, Mrs. Galland was the former owner and operator of Floral Fashions, a garment manufacturing company in Tiverton and Fall River.

Mrs. Galland was the President of the Ladies of St. Anne’s Sodality of Holy Ghost Church, Senior Citizens of North Tiverton, and the Ladies Auxiliary of the North Tiverton Volunteer Fire Department.

She is survived by her daughter Pauline O’Connell and her husband Peter of Tiverton; three grandchildren Peter O’Connell and his wife Kathy of Portsmouth, Daniel O’Connell of Marion and Katie O’Connell of New York, one great-granddaughter and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Galland was also predeceased by all of her brothers and sisters.

Her funeral will be held on Saturday, June 11, 2011 at 9am in the Holy Ghost Church 311 Hooper St., Tiverton. Visiting hours Friday from 4-7pm in the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME OF MEMORIAL TRIBUTE AT CHERRY PLACE 178 Winter St., Fall River. Memorial contributions in her honor may be made to Hospice at Visiting Nurse Services of Newport & Bristol Counties 1184 East Main Rd., Portsmouth, RI 02871. Burial will be in Pocasset Hill Cemetery.
