

Born in Latta, South Carolina on October 2, 1935, she was the daughter and only child of the late George W. and Sallie Mae (Godbold) Williams.
Maxine had her first job at Paroma Draperies and then Anndale Cookie Factory, Globe Manufacturing, and Frito Lay, just to name a few. She joined Bethel AME Church in 1962. She held many titles, including Chaplin of the Estelle Hicks Missionary Society in Fall River. Maxine was also a Stewardess and Trustee Emeritus for Bethel AME Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family, listening to music, and dancing.
Maxine is survived by six children, Gayle Scott of Chattanooga, TN, Robin Sears and spouse Rosemary Sears of Sunrise, FL, Douglas Sears and companion Linda Riley of Newport, RI, Regina Sears of New Bedford, Brenda Sears and fiancé Brian Jackson of Fall River, and Martin Sears of Fall River; 16 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great grandchildren. She was the mother of the late William E. Sears. Maxine will be missed by a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who loved her dearly.
Her Visitation will be held on Monday, July 31, 2023 from 9:30 to 10:30 AM in the Waring-Sullivan Home at Cherry Place, 178 Winter St., Fall River, followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00 AM in Bethel AME Church, 146 Hanover St., Fall River. Relatives and friends are invited. Burial in Oak Grove Cemetery, Fall River.
