Heidi Lee Gendreau

Heidi Lee Gendreau, age 55, of Westport, passed away Saturday, May 9, 2026, at the Sarah S. Brayton Nursing Care Center with her mother by her side. Born in Fall River, a daughter of Sandra (Gendreau) Amarello, she was a long-time resident of Westport.

A graduate of B.M.C. Durfee High School, she proudly served her country in the United States Navy as a Corpsman during Gulf War from 1987 to 1990. Following her military service, she dedicated herself to helping others, working as an EMT on the ambulance and later spending many years with Dormans Transport.

She had a deep love for animals and shared a special bond with her beloved service dog, Yota, a cherished Goldendoodle companion. In her quieter moments, she found joy and comfort in crafting, coloring, and crocheting.

She is survived by her mother, Sandra Amarello and her partner Paul Caron of Westport; two grandchildren, Trenton Kocak, Camryn Therrien; one brother Justin Gendreau and his wife Kate of Westport; aunt Judith Gendreau of Westport; uncle Brad Gendreau and his partner Marie Santos of Tiverton; nephew, Brennan Gendreau; niece, Peyton Gendreau; best friend Earleen Phillips of Tiverton and many cousins. She was the mother of the late Bianca Lee Cardoza.
