Born in Fall River, a son of the late Jack L. and Francis (Thorton) Hoover, he was a lifelong resident of Tiverton.
A graduate of Tiverton High School, Class of 1972, he was a master wood worker, cabinet and display maker and was the owner and operator of Spectrum Display Inc. He was also a bonsai artist and bonsai pottery maker and owned and operated Eagleville Bonsai.
He was a member of the American Bonsai Club and many other local bonsai organizations. He enjoyed being at home and took great pride in maintaining his yard. He loved the beach, taking drives to Newport, walking, animals, and all things nature. His favorite times were spent with his family, especially his grandsons, whom he adored
He is survived by two daughters, Kerri Carreiro and her husband Mike, Stacy Beth Hoover all of Tiverton; one brother, Wayne Hoover and his wife Michelle of Swansea, one sister, Cynthia Emond of Tiverton; three grandsons Jake, Tyler, and Jaxon and many nieces, nephews and friends. He was the brother of the late Joanne Carvalho.
His Funeral will be held on Friday, April 3, 2026, at 10:00AM in the Waring-Sullivan Home at Cherry Place, 178 Winter St., Fall River. Relatives and friends invited. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00PM. Contributions in his honor may be made to the Salgi Esophageal Cancer Research Foundation, P.O. Box 1912, East Greenwich, RI 02818. Burial in Pocasset Hill Cemetery, Tiverton.
