Karen B. Dunnigan, 77, of Fall River, passed away on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at the Pat Roche Hospice Home in Hingham, MA following a courageous two and a half year battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her loving family at the time of her passing. She was the daughter of the late Robert and Muriel (Boyce) Dunnigan.
Karen was a longtime resident of both Swansea and Fall River. She was a graduate of Joseph Case High School Class of ‘59 and then continued her education at the Kinyon-Campbell Business School. She worked for many years in customer service, ending her career at Providence Washington Insurance Company in Providence, RI.
Karen loved her family, especially her nine grandchildren who affectionately called her Grammy. She enjoyed cooking, trips to the beach and reading. She especially enjoyed listening to Johnny Mathis sing her favorite song, “Misty” and watching the Pioneer Woman.
Karen is survived by two daughters, Laurie A. Pereira and her husband Joseph of Fall River, Lynn M. Nuttall and her husband Casey of Hingham; a son, Marc S. Saucier and his wife Catherine of Dracut; a sister, Joyce Pellegrini of Barrington, RI; nine grandchildren, Joseph Jr., Jacob, Adam and Olivia Pereira, Sydney, Morgan and Aidan Nuttall and Connor and Caileigh Saucier; and the caring father of her children Carl A. Beshara of Seattle, WA.
A private family service will be held at the Waring-Sullivan Home in Fall River.
