Born in Fall River, a daughter of John “Jack” E. Eckersley of Tiverton and the late Dorothy (Henault) Eckersley, she was the step-daughter of Dorothea “Dottie” Eckersley. She is also survived by her brother, Scott Eckersley, a captain with the Connecticut State Police, and one niece, Bailey Rose Eckersley. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.
Kimberly had been a lifelong area resident. She was a graduate of Westport High School, class of 1982, and Southeastern Massachusetts University where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education. She then followed her dreams and opened Future Scholars Pre-School in Tiverton in 1989. She loved her business and her main focus was the children who she adored and their education.
Kim enjoyed traveling, was an excellent cook and loved to decorate. She loved her dogs, Gracie and Will.
Her Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at 10:00AM in St. Theresa’s Church, 265 Stafford Rd., Tiverton. Relatives and friends invited. Contributions in her honor may be made to St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept 142, Memphis, TN 38101. Burial private.
