Born in Fall River, a son of the late James and Mary (Whalen) Walls, he was a lifelong resident of the city.
A Veteran of the United States Army during World War II he served in France, England, and Belgium. He worked at the Newport Naval Base for 35 years before retiring in 1977. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post 486, the National Association of Federal Employees Chapter 115 and the Over the Hill Gang.
He is survived by one son: Michael J. Walls of Fall River and many nieces and nephews including Mary Jane Walls of Somerset and Ellen Walls Keavy of Jamestown, RI. He was brother of the late James Walls, Margaret Worsley, and Helen Gastall.
His Funeral will be held Friday, February 1, 2013 at 8:30AM from the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME OF MEMORIAL TRIBUTE at CHERRY PLACE, 178 Winter St., Fall River followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00AM in St. Mary’s Cathedral, Spring St., Fall River. Visiting hours prior to his mass from 8:30 to 9:30AM in the funeral home. Burial in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River.
