Born in Castelforte, Italy, a daughter of the late Salvatore and Giovanna (Verrico) Petruccelli, she immigrated to the United States in 1968 having settled in Fall River.
She worked as a Presser in the garment industry for many years. Maria loved gardening and cooking. Her favorite times spent were cooking Sunday meals for her whole family.
She is survived by four children, Leonora Casale of Fall River, Mattia Lucciola and his wife Veronica of Palm Harbor, FL, Enzo Lucciola of Belleaire Beach, FL, Pina Lucciola of Fall River; one sister, Anna Lembo of Formia, Italy; eight grandchildren, Evelina, Rossana, Nadia, Marco, Vincenzo, Maura, Matteo and Mia and seven great-grandchildren; Amaya, Julian, Jordan, Jayden, Aries, Maeve and Caoimhe.
Her Funeral will be held on Monday, September 12, 2022 at 9:00AM from the Waring-Sullivan Home at Cherry Place, 178 Winter St., Fall River, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00AM in Holy Name Church, 709 Hanover St., Fall River. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Sunday from 3:00 to 6:00PM. Contributions in her honor may be made to Kindred Hospice, 275 Martine St., # 202, Fall River, MA 02723. Burial in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River.
