

Peter A. “Pete” Sullivan, Jr. died unexpectedly at his residence on Tuesday, July 2, 2014. He was the loving companion of Donna Ferreira. Donna and Pete shared many wonderful times traveling and enjoying all of their combined granddaughters. Peter spent much of his free time traveling to New Hampshire to spend time with his family. His granddaughters Sophie and Kelsey were the light of his life.
Born in Fall River on August 23, 1947, son of the late Peter A. Sullivan, Sr. and the late Margaret Mary (Winn) Sullivan. He resided in both Fall River and Somerset, MA. Pete was a 1965 graduate of B. M.C. Durfee High School. He continued his education and received an associate’s degree in Business Management from Johnson and Wales University. Peter served his country by joining the Navy during the Vietnam Era having served on the USS Gearing DD 710 in the Mediterranean, Cuba and Greece.
He was employed as the manager of Extra Space Storage in Milton, MA and had previously worked at Bradlee’s.
Survivors include his son, Jeffrey P. Sullivan and his wife Gwendolyn of Hopkinton, N.H., two sisters, Margaret A. “Peggy” Guinen and Nancy J. Sullivan both of Fall River, MA, his granddaughters, Sophie and Kelsey Sullivan and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105-1905. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his visitation on Monday, July 14, 2014 from 4-7PM in the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME OF MEMORIAL TRIBUTE AT CHERRY PLACE, 178 Winter St., Fall River with a Memorial Service at 6:30PM followed by Military Honors at 7PM. Burial will be private.
