Tanya Cummings

Tanya (Litaway) Cummings, age 68, of Fall River, passed away Sunday, March 2, 2014 in Charlton Memorial Hospital unexpectedly. Born in Fall River, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Kathryn (Kogut) Litaway. A lifelong resident of the city, she was a graduate of B.M.C. Durfee High School where she was a Majorette.

In addition to being a home maker, she worked as a Hairdresser immediately after high school and later worked at Chace Leather in Fall River for many years.

She is survived by her four children: Kevin J. Cummings of Fall River, Tonya Jackson-Cummings and her fiancé Tony Cabral of New Bedford, Tara Greaney and her husband Patrick of Holden, MA and Chad P. Cummings and his wife Lee of Leroy, NY, three sisters; Nancy Oliveira, Lana Texeira and Sandra Litaway all of Fall River, eight grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

She was mother of the late Jason P. Cummings and sister of the late Michael Litaway.

Her Funeral will be held Saturday, March 8, 2014 at 8AM from the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME OF MEMORIAL TRIBUTE at CHERRY PLACE, 178 Winter St., Fall River, followed by a Funeral Mass at 9AM in Holy Trinity Church, 951 Stafford Rd., Fall River. Visiting hours Friday from 4 to 8PM. Contributions in her honor may be made to the Fall River Football Challenge 811 Tarkiln Hill Rd., New Bedford, MA 02745.
