Born in Troy, NY a son of the late Claude C. and Ida M. (Boulris) Buchanan he spent his early years in Fall River then Tiverton and Westport.
A veteran of the US Navy having served during the Korean Conflict he was a Truck Driver for the Teamsters Union, Local #526 in Fall River for 34 years. A member of St. Christopher’s Church in Tiverton he was also a past president, treasurer and even bartender for the Fall River Bowling Green Club and a member of the Westport VFW since 1978.
He is survived by one daughter, Jeanne E. Buchanan of Berkeley; three sons, William A. Buchanan of Dartmouth, Bruce A. Buchanan and his wife Denise of Tiverton and Mark D. Buchanan of Tiverton; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
His Visitation will be held on Friday, March 7, 2017 from 9:00 – 10:00 AM in the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME AT CHERRY PLACE, 178 Winter St., Fall River with a Funeral Service at 10:00 AM in the Funeral Home.
