Bill Cooper, 66, peacefully took leave of this earth to be reunited with his brother Tommy on August 21. His loving wife, Regina Singleton, will miss and cherish the many happy memories of their all too short life together.
He leaves behind his caring daughter Lori Cooper of Dighton, sisters Shirley Farrell of Stonington, CT, Patricia Sullivan of Portsmouth, RI and Mary Gardner of Elizabethtown, KY, sister-in-law Betty Cooper of Fall River. He will also sadly be missed by his father in law and pal Frank Silva of Fall River, his in laws Michael and Kathy Silva of Fall River and many caring nieces, nephews and friends. His faithful companions Ruby, Sparkles and Glory will be lost without him. He will also be missed by the Mass State Lottery and the Mashantucket Tribe of CT.
He attended BMC Durfee High School class of 1964, where his team was inducted into the football hall of fame for an undefeated season. He was proudly retired from the US Army Reserve after 7 years active duty in the US Navy during the Vietnam Era.
Like his father and brother before him, he was a skilled bricklayer, contributing to the building of America during his 40 year career as a brother of the BAC Union Local 3.
His joys of family, golf, gambling and simply enjoying life were sadly cut short after losing the coin toss to bladder cancer. Regina thanks everyone for their caring, concern and prayers and requests that you do not send flowers. Let his death remind us all that it’s later than we think – the time to be happy is now; the place to be happy is here.
A Celebration of His Life will be held Sunday, August 26, 2012 from 10 AM - 1PM in the WARING-SULLVIAN HOME OF MEMORIAL TRIBUTE AT CHERRY PLACE, 178 Winter St., Fall River. Relatives and friends invited. Burial is private.
