I miss you more everyday Arya. You were a brother to me and I still struggle to believe you're gone. 

My sincere and heartfelt condolences to your entire family.  I have  many vivid memories of the  Mortazavi boys in the Lower School art studio. I have such fond memories of Arya from his time in the Lower School.  What a happy young man, one filled with intelligence, wit, and heart.  We will miss him.

Arya - My heart is broken. We are definitely kindred spirits and i hope to reconnect in another lifetime. I'll miss your warm heart, stubborn righteousness, how often you would lend an ear to everyone, and the lightness and energy you would bring to a room. You were wonderfully gregarious and able to enlist people with ease. Whether it be for basketball, the gym, or a meeting people wanted to be with you. I miss sitting around and telling old tales and laughing from our guts. You are a beautiful soul and I will do all i can to keep your energy and service to others alive. rest in peace my brother

I was at West Point today, and your voice popped in my head. The campus was beautiful, I enjoyed all the time we spent together, you made me laugh and I loved hearing your opinions and points of views on everything. You’re life was cut way too short but I know I’ll see you in another life time. Much love brother,

Arya,

When I met you I instantly connected and felt respect for you. Then I found out you had a sense of humor as well. Your smile and laughter were contagious and I will always cherish those small moments.

We always had an inside joke, where we would say “just be yourself” and walk away. I always felt like that was an appropriate “joke” with Arya because he was always unapologetically himself.

Rest In Peace 

I got to know Arya as a teammate of my son on the St. Albans lacrosse team. The young man I knew was a thoughtful and kind mentor to a younger player, whom he helped welcome to a close-knit team. That ability to think of others is how I will always remember Arya. I am sorry that he left us at such a young age. Thoughts are with the Mortazavi family at this difficult time.

Kind. Considerate. Funny. Hilarious, actually. Brilliant. Empathetic. Positive. Helpful. I will never forget the words you said to me on the basketball court. You offered your hand. You challenged me. You accepted me. You impressed me. You taught me. I know, I made you mad like a younger brother makes the older brother mad, but you let me have my “shtick”. Which then became our “shtick”. Thoughtful. Strong. Gritty. I will forever speak highly of you and will never forget you. I am grateful for you. Athletic. 

I am a recent friend of Arya's but he never failed to make me laugh with his sharp wit and incredible intellect. He was never afraid to give me wise and sometimes harsh words of advice even when I did not want to hear them, but they were always spot on. He was fearless and determined and ready to take on the world. I will miss his kindness, which he always tried to downplay. I will miss his friendship dearly and I will never forget his smile, his dimples and his keen insight. Arya, you were always a bright light when I was in a difficult place.
