Bobbie Jean Merzazada was born on July 24, 1951 in Kansas City, Missouri. The family later moved to Nevada, Missouri, where she attended and graduated from Cottey College. She was a member of Phi Beta Kappa and was on the school debate team. Bobbie then got her bachelor’s degree in Springfield, Missouri, and earned her master’s degree from UMKC in Kansas City.
She spent her professional life commuting to and from DC, working for the Treasury Department, ABA and Arnold & Porter law firm. She had a smile for everyone and a positive attitude in every regard. She was organized and methodical and got the job done.
Bobbie was a devoted wife and mother who had the most optimistic outlook on life. She enjoyed reading, spending time with her family and helping others. She was witty, kind and her exuberance for life was contagious. She was a long-time and faithful member of Lincolnia United Methodist Church in Alexandria, VA, where she served on many committees. Bobbie’s steadfast faith in God kept her positive and joyful.
She is survived by her caring husband of 42 years, David Mohammad; son David Hassan Merzazada (Sahar) of Leesburg, daughter Asha Ioanou (Nicholas) of Ashburn; grandchildren Ellie and Athan Ioanou and Salma Merzazada. She is also survived by her 2 loving sisters Sharon Hammel and Peggy Bagley (Douglas Goldhamer), her brother Bill Bagley and various members of the Merzazada family also survive. She is predeceased by her Fathers William Bagley (Stepfather), Robert Moore, her mother Shirley Bagley and her brother Jimmy.
Visitation is Monday, December 17 from 1 - 3pm at National Memorial Park 7482 Lee Highway, Falls Church VA 22042 and burial immediately following.
