

Chantal Johnson passed away peacefully at home in North Arlington early in the morning of May 27th with her husband of 52 years and faithful canine Toby by her side.
Survivors include her husband William (Bill) Johnson of Arlington, son Chris Johnson (Rebecca), daughter Nathalie Johnson-Noon (James) of North Potomac, grandchildren Max and Zoey Noon, cousins Danielle Delanerie (Michel) of Roissy-en-France and Sylvie Bosma Granger (Jonathan) of Compiegne France and friends Jacky Cailliot and his children of Saint-Andre France. She was preceded in death by her friend from childhood Christine Cailliot, wife of Jacky Calliot.
Born in Paris, France in 1947, Chantal immigrated to the United States in 1970 to marry. She worked for the French Embassy in Washington, D.C. for 37 years until retirement in 2009 as an Administrative Assistant to the French Commercial Counselor. Chantal loved animals, water aerobics, reading, cooking, family vacations and spending time with her grandchildren.
The family would like to express special appreciation to VITAS Healthcare for the excellent home hospice care provided Chantal over the past 7 months. The professionalism, competence and warm caring of the VITAS staff was a comfort throughout the journey.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
