

Born on April 18, 1954, in Alexandria, Virginia to parents Roy Wilbur and Darothy Emily Pounders originally from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Dave was known for his unwavering work ethic and dedication to his family. He spent over 30 years as an owner operator of SteadyTruckin, where he transported materials and built lasting relationships with colleagues and clients alike. His commitment to excellence and integrity earned him the respect of many who worked alongside him.
Dave is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Lori, whose unwavering support was the cornerstone of his life. Together, they raised two wonderful children, Aaron (Angela) and Serena, who have both grown to embody their father’s strong values and work ethic. Dave took great pride in being a grandfather to four cherished grandchildren.
Dave was a passionate and devoted person who followed his convictions. He never hesitated to seize an opportunity to share God’s message. He passed out gospel pamphlets to friends, family, co-workers and strangers he met in his daily travels.
Known for being sentimental he cherished mementos that reminded him of family and friends. He loved spending weekends fishing, boating, waterskiing, camping, going to Kerr Lake, Bethany Beach, Myrtle Beach and attending music festivals.
A celebration of Dave’s life will be held on October 31, 2024, at the Murphy Funeral Home in Falls Church, Virginia with visitation starting at 9 AM and the service at 10 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Samaritan’s Purse. Helping survivors of Hurricane Helene was a cause close to Dave’s heart.
Dave will be deeply missed by his family, friends and those who were fortunate enough to be close to him. His legacy of love, hard work, and dedication will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
