On Friday, December 7, 2012 Doris M. Blake
passed away at Sunrise Assisted Living in McLean, VA. Doris spent her early years in Providence R.I. and moved to Washington, DC with her late husband, Walter L. Blake in 1945. She was a resident of Glover Park for over 50 years. She worked at Georgetown University bookstore for many years and was active as a volunteer and member of the Ladies Board for the University's Hospital.
Doris is survived by her three children, Kathleen (William) Althen, Thomas (Jill) Blake, and John (Peggy) Blake; seven grandchildren, Dan and Mike Blake, Katie (Karen) Manukyan, Blake, David, and John Althen, Peter Blake, a great grandchild Nathaniel Manukyan; her cousin, Maureen Sieberg, and 13 nieces and nephews.
A viewing will be held at 9 a.m., immediately followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. on Thursday, December 13, 2012 at Our Lady of Good Counsel, in Vienna, VA. There will be a private interment at Fort Lincoln Cemetery.
